Haircut for Trees consists of a series of 6 diptychs illustrating my oddly obsessive impulse to trim the tree line of mountains, much the way a barber trims the whiskers on a beard. Each pairing consists of a before and after image of a digitally altered landscape from Southern Vermont and is printed on 20” x 24” cotton rag paper. The project also exists as an artist book with Japanese Stab Binding and fold-outs to reveal a before and after image for each landscape.
