ITEMS OF CLOTHING SECRETLY HIDDEN BY MY GIRLFRIEND (SO I WOULDN’T WEAR THEM ANYMORE)

In 2008, I found a bag in the back of my girlfriend’s (now wife’s) closet containing nine articles of clothing that she had slowly been editing out of my wardrobe during the previous two years without my knowledge. She had grown tired of me wearing clothing with stains and/or out-of-date fashions but could not bring herself to throw them away.

The clothing in these images are printed to scale and have been featured in the Museum of Contemporary Photography’s exhibition at the 2008 New York Photo Festival (pictured), the 2012 deCordova Museum Biennial exhibition, and at Galerie f5,6 in Munich.
